The God Father
Galatians 3:26 (NLT) “For you are all childrenof God through faith in Christ Jesus….”
From the very beginning, God wanted a family. Not that He was lonely, I believe there is a bigger reason why He wanted a family. Part of the reason could be that He is Love. God is Love, and love is an act of giving. We were created to be recipients of His Love. When God created Adam and Eve, He used His Spirit and breathed life into their bodies. But you all know that it was because of Adam and Eve’s sin that a spiritual separation was caused between God and us.
Now the only way you can have this relationship is through faith, belief, and acceptance of Christ Jesus. You receive your salvation from the faith that you have in Christ Jesus. It is never a result of the works that you’ve done. (Ephesians 2:8) Salvation is a free gift from God.
I must point out something very important. Paul writes the following: For you are all children of God. Paul was addressing both Jews and Greeks (also known as Gentiles). If you are not Jewish by blood, then you are automatically a Gentile. But because we are in the family of God, it no longer matters whether you are Jewish or Greek.
Galatians 3:28 (NLT) “There is no longer Jew or Gentile…”
Because of Jesus, we have a reunited relationship with God. And because we are now children of God, we can now look to God as our heavenly father. Think of it. God wants us to look to Him as a father. In fact, when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, Jesus said, when you pray, say, ‘Our Father, which art in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-13) You get to call God, Father. He is your Father!
