Overcome Evil With Good
Romans 12:21 (Amplified) “Do not be overcome and conquered by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Did you know that a ship on water does not sink because of the water that surrounds it? A buoyant force pushes the ship up once it displaces enough water. A ship sinks when water gets inside.
God has given us the power to overcome evil. Satan and demons place thoughts in your mind, hoping the thought will take root. But you are responsible for taking captive every negative thought.
2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV) “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
Once we have taken captive every negative thought that enters our mind, then we overcome it by doing something good for the Lord. Do something good for someone else. Ask the Lord who you can show kindness to today. The Harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Here is something very important that many people forget. When they are bombarded with evil, they attempt to fight alone. Satan is attacking your mind, and people turn to temporary substitutes to block or numb the effects. They never solve the problem. The Bible is very clear on how to deal with Satan and his demons. Submit yourself unto God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7). God fights your battles for you.
Satan is known not only as a deceiver, but also as the accuser. His goal is to make sin look so attractive to you that you give in and sin. Once you give in to sin, he accuses you of sinning and being unworthy of God’s mercy and grace. We are not helpless Christians. We are overcomers! We have the greater one living inside of us.
