Heart Wisdom
Proverbs 2:10, 11 (NKJV) “When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11 Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you.”
I don’t know if you observed something very important in this scripture, but it is worth spending some time studying.
God’s Wisdom benefits your spirit, not your mind. Humanity’s quest is to gain more knowledge. In fact, we pride ourselves on reaching the ultimate level of knowledge when we earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in areas such as Engineering, Arts, Social Science, Humanities, Science, and Religion. Knowledge benefits your mind. But it needs instructions on how to use it properly, which is why you need Wisdom.
Once you gain God’s Wisdom in your spirit, coupled with knowledge, it opens the world to you.
- Discretion will preserve you – Having the ability to judge what is right and wrong.
- Understanding will keep you – Understanding the knowledge that you have will keep you safe.
In school, there are many things you can memorize and repeat when it is time to take a test. But most of the time, you forget what you learned because you don’t understand it deeply. But once you understand something, you will remember it for life.
God wants to put His Word and His Wisdom in your spirit so that you can understand the information you acquire. Once you fully understand, you can walk with the Wise.
