Give Thanks To the Lord
1 Chronicles 16:34 (NLT): “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness endures forever.”
Have you recently gone through something that required God to move on your behalf? I’m talking about something big that is way beyond what you can do. Did you need favor from someone you didn’t know? Or an event that works out in your favor? You probably spent hours or days in prayer, asking God for help. Yes. I’ve been there.
Here is something to remember. Nothing is too big, no request too small, and no problem too complicated for God to solve. Did you know when God created the heavens and the earth, He didn’t break a sweat? God didn’t decide to rest on the 7th day because He was tired. He rested because He marveled at the wonder of His creation. So you can ask Him for anything, knowing with full confidence that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)
Now, when He meets your needs, do you thank Him? I’m talking: do you thank Him exceedingly, abundantly, more than you could ever dare say or think? The only way I can think that qualifies as this kind of gratitude is through worship. Worship doesn’t require any works or acts of service to qualify. Worship is acknowledging and recognizing who God is. You basically lift up your voice and acknowledge there is no other God before, after, or like Him. He can do the impossible!
Something else is extremely important to know: God’s ability to meet our needs is unlimited. His nature is love, and God’s lovingkindness endures forever. You never have to worry about God telling you, “I’m sorry, I’m all tapped out right now on Miracles. Come back in a week or two when I recharge myself.” No. God’s mercy, grace, kindness, and love are forever and infinite. He will never run out of His love for you, and there is nothing that can ever cause Him to stop loving you. (Romans 8:31-39)
If God has already met your needs in a time of desperation, thank Him and worship Him.
Be Blessed!
