God’s Presence Through Worship

2 Chronicles 5:13,14 (NLT): “The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the Lord with these words: “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!”

At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. 14 The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God.”

Have you ever truly worshiped God with your whole heart?  I’m not talking about just going to church to sing a bunch of hymns.  I’m talking about you having a true experience while worshiping God.

The first Holy Temple was built around 1550 B.C. under the leadership of Moses1.  Since Moses and the 12 tribes of Israel were in the desert, they made the Holy Temple from tents under God’s instructions.  For 546 years, the tribes wanted to build a solid structure for the Holy Temple.  Finally, King Solomon got it built in the year 1004 B.C.1 To celebrate the temple’s completion, Solomon had the Ark of the Covenant and the priests play instruments so they could worship.  When they raised their voices, worshiped, and praised the Lord, God’s presence entered the room like a thick cloud.  God’s presence was so powerful that the priests could not continue playing their instruments, and everyone fell to the ground.  I will say it differently: Sincere worship to God was enough to get Him to show up!

Worship is much more than singing songs.  It is about the attitude of your heart and mind; your motive.  Second, it is about acknowledging who God is.  Everyone was saying, “He is good! His faithful love endures forever!”  Notice they were not singing or saying things about themselves or what God is going to do for them.  They were acknowledging WHO God is.  It is telling God, “You are awesome!  You are Holy! There is no one like you!  Your loving kindness is everlasting!”  Acknowledge WHO He is!  That is Worship!

Take the time to worship the Lord every day!  God isn’t going to beg you to worship Him.  In fact, He doesn’t NEED your worship, but He wants it because He wants a relationship with you.  Worship is for YOUR benefit.  Not His.  If you don’t know how to worship, ask God for help. Get away from all distractions.  Be still and start worshipping the Lord!  You’ll be glad you did.

Be Blessed!
