Colossians 2:6,7 (NLT) “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”
There are many Christians who go through the words of accepting Jesus Christ as their savior, but slide back to living the same life before they accepted Him. There was no giving up the old nature or repenting. By the way, to repent means to change your mind. To change it from one way of thinking to the opposite. That is why the scripture in Romans 12:1, 2 states not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Christianity is not buying a ticket to Heaven. Christianity is having a relationship with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Christianity is “you” deciding that you want to follow Jesus and be part of the Kingdom of God. You must actively seek after God, spend time reading the word daily, and dwell in His presence. Your life should be built using Jesus as the foundation. In doing so, you will have an abundance of thankfulness. Why, you ask? Because the more you get to know Jesus, who He is, and what He did for you to redeem you into God’s Kingdom of eternity, your mind and spirit will be flooded with gratefulness knowing what you were saved from.
Get to know Jesus. Read the Bible, pray daily, ask God for guidance and direction, and ask the Holy Spirit to teach more about Jesus. Your faith will be strengthened, and you will be so very glad you did.
Be Blessed!
