The Lord’s Way Gives Strength
Proverbs 10:29 (NKJV) “The way of the Lord is strength for the upright, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.”
The life of being a Christian is the toughest experience you will ever have. A pastor once said, “Being a Christian is not easy. It is impossible!” What he was saying is that if you try to be a good steward as a Christian by relying on your own efforts, you will encounter insurmountable frustrations, failures, downfalls, setbacks, subjugation, and utter defeat. The Christian life is not a checklist of things to do. It is a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
You will never have the strength to obey God until you have His Word living inside of you.
While Paul was preaching to a group of religious men in Athens, he made a statement that realigned the thought patterns of the common people. Paul stated: “For in Him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28).
- In Him we live: Our physical life and breath are entirely sustained by God.
- In Him we move: All our daily actions, energy, and vitality depend on His power.
- In Him we have our being: Our very existence and ultimate identity are rooted in Him.

God gives you the strength to obey and follow Him if you humble yourself and ask for His help. It is like driving a car. Jesus is in one of the following locations: The Trunk, the Backseat, the Front Passenger Seat, or He is Driving behind the steering wheel. If you’re doing the driving and steering, you’re going to have problems. Give God the steering wheel. Let Him drive. He knows the way. Giving God control over your life provides the strength to be the Christian He wants you to be.
