Trusting in the Lord
Psalm 37:3 (NLT) “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.”
To some Christians, this scripture may sound a little cliché. Or you may have the perspective thinking, “What’s the point? No one cares about your good based on your morals or your religion.” Don’t ever forget that we are wrestling not against things that are physical, but spiritual. Doing good to those who don’t deserve it is the hardest thing you will ever do. That is why you must listen to the Holy Spirit when He tells you to move with compassion towards others.
Trusting in the Lord gives you the strength to do good. Trusting In the Lord answers the questions, “Why am I doing this?” Trusting the Lord answers others who ask the same questions. Your answer should always be, “Because I trust God.” A parallel scripture that also supports the above is the following:
Proverbs 3:5,6 (NKJV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”
- Trusting in the Lord will fill your jars of oil for a lifetime.
- Trusting in the Lord will enable you to walk on water.
- Trusting in the Lord will part the Red Sea and enable you to walk on dry land to safety.
- Trusting in the Lord will provide you with water out of a rock, in the middle of the desert.
- Trusting in the Lord will protect you from a den of Lions.
- Trusting in the Lord will protect you from a raging fire after you are thrown in bounded with rope.
- Trusting in the Lord will give you wisdom to feed not only a nation of people during a drought, but other nations of people who come to you for help.
Think about this. God can not get any better or stronger than what He already is now. There is nothing above Him and nothing that is more powerful than Him. If all of that is true, then everything God asks us to do, especially Trusting in Him, is ALWAYS for our benefit. Always!
