Author of Confusion
1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV) “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…”
This scripture is very interesting. It is not saying that all confusion comes from God. It is just saying God is not the author or source of confusion. Confusion is when something is not clear. This causes a lack of full understanding. Humans often lack understanding of many things because our minds are limited.
God doesn’t want us to be in a state of confusion when it comes to the Bible and understanding Him. He wants us to come to Him for everything. Staying in a state of confusion can lead you down the wrong path:
- Confusion – When things are not clear.
- Doubt – Lack of trust, questioning whether something is true.
- Double-minded – Having a divided mind, having an inner conflict with what you know versus believing something else, spiritual indecision.
- Unbelief – A state of not believing, total rejection of facts whether it is true or not.
The enemy will always question what God’s Word says to confuse you and cause you to doubt what is written. If left alone, then you have a double-minded mind, and it eventually settles in your mind as unbelief. It all started with creating an area in your mind for confusion.
There are many things you may not immediately understand in God’s Word. When you approach God, acknowledge that you know and trust that God’s Word is the truth. You are asking to understand it. If you ask God for help to understand what is written, He will answer you. Never stay confused without asking God to help you understand. God will answer you and confirm it through His Word.
